WWE commentator Corey Graves has discussed the differences in the booking of tag teams between Vince McMahon and Paul Levesque (Triple H).
The team recently beat the New Day’s record for the longest reign as WWE Tag Team Champions of all time, having held the SmackDown Tag Team Titles since July 2021.
Speaking on After the Bell, Corey Graves pointed out that the Usos managed to become as accomplished and popular as they are, despite dealing with a boss who didn’t value tag teams for so long.
Graves said:
“Let’s be honest. The old boss (Vince McMahon) looked at tag team wrestling different than the current boss (Paul Levesque/Triple H). But the Usos began succeeding when when the old boss was still in charge.
“The Usos, in spite of the fact that it was (McMahon’s) never favorite flavor of ice cream, still, week after week after week, would go out there and tear the house down.”
The Usos will join their cousin and ‘Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns, as well as Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa at Survivor Series WarGames on Saturday, November 26.
The Bloodline will face the Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre and a yet-to-be-announced fifth opponent at the event in the show’s titular match.
It’s been reported that the planned partner for the Brawling Brutes and McIntyre was Kevin Owens, although a sprained MCL at a house show on November 13 put that in doubt.
However, the latest updates do seem to be positive as, as of yesterday, Owens was scheduled for tonight’s November 18 SmackDown.
