Dean Ambrose has been on the shelf since December 2017 after tearing his triceps, but now, plans for his return seem to have been leaked as reported by Cagesideseats.com.
If reports are to be believed, the current feud between Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler over the WWE Intercontinental Championship is a prelude to a return for the ‘Lunatic Fringe’, who will make a heroic comeback to aid his pal in the war. This could happen as soon as SummerSlam with news of Ambrose’s recovery being almost complete.
Should he only have to execute a few moves at the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’ and not contest a full bout for a few weeks after, there’s no reason we shouldn’t see him on August 19.
This news will come as a heavy blow to those hoping to see a much needed heel turn for the former WWE Champion. The original rumor was that the third member of the Shield would make a triumphant comeback, only to turn on Seth Rollins. Now it seems the band will be getting back together. It’s a shame, the ‘Architect’ is so much better than being saddled in a duo.
WrestleTalk would like to know your thoughts on the return, if you’d like to see it at SummerSlam, should Dean Ambrose turn heel, or do you want to see more of the team which was cut short thanks to injury? You can talk to all your favorite WrestleTalk writers on Twitter and Discord today.
