The highly-anticipated opening segment of Raw featuring Vince McMahon did not disappoint.
Vince brought out Stephanie McMahom, Triple H and Shane McMahon, who all played babyface as they admitted that WWE had failed its audience in recent weeks.
Stephanie, in a shocking admission considering her usual rhetoric, declared that WWE has “not been doing a very good job for you lately” and has failed to do what her father always taught they should do, which is listen to the audience.

The quartet promised major changes to Raw and SmackDown, with a more hands-on management of the shows, the removal of middle management, less of the things fans don’t like and an influx of new talent to freshen things up.
Triple H declared that the fans were now “the Authority”.
Although outright admitting your product is bad is straight out of the Vince Russo school of booking, there was a sense of renewed optimism in the building and a definite feeling of intrigue over what might happen next.
At the very least, it makes a change for WWE to actually admit when they are wrong, which has rarely happened. Ever.
