Van Dam held the Impact World Title once in his career, beating then-champion AJ Styles on the April 19, 2010 edition of Impact TV. He would hold the title for 113 days before vacating it due to a storyline injury.
This will mark the first time RVD has wrestled for Impact since February of 2013. His final match was a defeat to Kenny King that saw him lose the X-Division Championship.
As for RVD’s tag partner Sabu, this will be his first match for the promotion since November of 2010. His last match was a 10-man tag at the Turning Point show in which he, Stevie Richards, Rhyno, Raven and Brian Kendrick were defeated by AJ Styles, Douglas Williams, James Storm, Kazarian and Bobby Roode.
Impact Wrestling’s United We Stand event will stream live on their Twitch channel on April 4.
