Ever since Wrestlemania XXX, WWE has held a battle royal in honor of Andre the Giant, arguably the biggest and most memorable man in WWE history. Unfortunately, big and memorable are not exactly words that have come to mind when discussing this still relatively new Wrestlemania tradition.
With Cesaro winning the first-ever Andre the Giant Battle Royal, it seemed like the match would be a chance to showcase the young and upcoming top talents of the company. However, in reality, the match has become somewhat of a smorgasbord of the roster’s midcard.
This year, WWE has the opportunity to change this, making the battle royal mean something. This could be achieved by firmly establishing a superstar, introducing or continuing a hot feud, or introducing a new face in a big way, it can change they way we all view this match moving forward in the years to come.
