Since February 2017, Mr McMahon’s wife Linda has served as the Head of the Small Business Administration in President Donald Trump’s cabinet. According to Politico, Linda McMahon is preparing to resign from her post.
WWE and Donald Trump have been intertwined for years, with WrestleManias IV and V being held at Trump Plaza. In 2007, Donald Trump and Vince McMahon elected Bobby Lashley and Umaga respectively to fight on their behalves in the ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ at WrestleMania 23
Linda, who was WWE’s CEO until 2009, has been one of the sole survivors of Trump’s administration that has faced resignations and sackings. Linda is expected to return to the private sector and assist in the fundraising campaign for Trump’s 2020 re-election bid.
Linda has been involved in politics since her aforementioned decision to step down as WWE CEO in 2009. She ran for office in 2009 and 2012 in Connecticut, losing in both attempts to Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy respectively. She was also a key figure in helping Donald Trump get elected into the executive in 2016.
