WWE Extreme Rules kicked off with somewhat of a surprise as Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Finn Bálor for the Intercontinental Championship in the first bout of the pre-show.
Shinsuke managed to roll out the way of a Coup de Grace, nail Finn with a knee to the back of the head, and follow up with a Kinshasa for the win.
The ‘King of Strong Style’ crashed an interview with Bálor on SmackDown last month and gave the belt a “too sweet” to make his intentions at coming for the title clear.
He defeated Finn convincingly on SmackDown this past Tuesday in a non-title match, and ultimately followed up tonight when the strap was on the line.
This is how you do it.

This is Shinsuke’s first reign with the IC Title, and Finn had held it since defeating Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 35.
