It is being reported that CM Punk’s representatives have put forward the idea of him being given the role of co-presenter of the upcoming FS1 WWE talk show.
While this is far from confirmed, and let’s be honest, it’s highly unlikely that Punk would ever agree to it, but it’s interesting that CAA would even suggest the idea knowing the history between Punk and WWE.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said:
“What we do know that is interesting is that CAA, which represents Punk and also represents WWE, has had an agent reach out to FOX head honchos about Punk as a co-host of the upcoming new FS 1 talk show.”
He went on to say that WWE is unlikely to be keen on the idea themselves, but if anyone is going to be able to afford it, it would be WWE.
“At the same time, WWE has so much money that they could make him an offer that would be ridiculous. In a competitive environment, he is the biggest potential free agent, so there is that argument.”
The longer time goes on, the more rumours have started about a potential return for Punk, but it really does now feel like we will never see him work for any wrestling promotions ever again, and maybe that’s a good thing.
