The King of the Ring tournament continued tonight on Smackdown Live. Ali and Chad Gable both advanced to the next round of the tournament.
Ali faced Buddy Murphy in the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament. Many folks were picking Buddy Murphy to move forward after his recent mini-push. However, Ali picked up the clean win in what would have to be considered one of the better matches recently on Smackdown Live.

Ali hit a wonderful DDT on Murphy and a 450 splash for the win. This match was really, really good.
In the second KOTR Match of the night, Chad Gable beat Shelton Benjamin after being ridiculed for being vertically challenged. In a fairly quick match, Gable made short work of Shelton Benjamin.
Scratch and claw. Scratch and claw.
That's exactly what @WWEGable did as he defeated @Sheltyb803 in the first round of the #KingOfTheRing Tournament! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/2IL7EyJeLC

You might say Shelton Benjamin came up just a bit short in his attempt to become the King of the Ring. Okay, enough short jokes. Gable moves forward, but we’ll have to see how the next round shakes out.
