When AEW announced itself onto the world stage as the newest super power of world wrestling, one of the biggest names not to sign with the company was Marty Scurll.
There was of course a very good reason for that, given that he was and still is signed with Ring of Honor.
Hpowever, according to Sports Illustrated, that could all be about to change, as Scurll’s Ring of Honor contract reportedly expires in November.
Both Dave Meltzer and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful have also previously reported that Scurll was set to leave ROH towards the end of 2019.
So, where to after that? Well, the two obvious choices for someone as popular as Scurll are of course WWE and AEW, but really it feels like heading over to join his friends at AEW would make the most sense.
Scurll is very close with Cody and the Bucks, and has appeared several times on Being the Elite, so it’s more than likely that the two parties are already in talks over a contract.
WWE will likely offer a lot of money to try and tempt Marty over to their shores, but if we see him going anywhere other than AEW, I will eat my hat.
