Earlier on today, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp put out a tweet stating that every year, WWE seemingly signs a huge Japanese star and normally brings them into NXT.
The list included Asuka in 2015, Shinsuke Nakamura in 2016 and KUSHIDA in 2019.
Every year, WWE seems to sign at least one big Japanese name. Who do you think it'll be in 2020?
2014: KENTA
2015: Asuka
2016: Shinsuke Nakamura & Tozawa
2017: Kairi Sane
2018: Io Shirai
2019: KUSHIDA— Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com (@SeanRossSapp) September 27, 2019
Sapp then asked which Japanese star fans thought WWE would sign in 2020.
However, it appears that he may have jumped the gun, as Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a top wrestler from Japan will be signing with WWE very soon.
Meltzer states that there is a “strong belief within the industry” that Jiro Kuroshio is going to be joining WWE very soon.
For those who aren’t aware, 27-year-old Kuroshio is widely regarded as “one of the best around”.
There is currently no word on if WWE has signed Kuroshio to an official deal yet, but stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on the matter.
