To kick off this week’s episode of Raw, Drew McIntyre and Ricochet went one-on-one in a match that was rather well-received by fans in attendance and those watching at home.
The match was booked to build towards the Team Flair vs. Team Hogan match at Crown Jewel, with McIntyre picking up the win on his return to TV.
Following their match on last night’s show, Dave Meltzer is reporting on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has big plans for both men, especially Drew McIntyre:
“I know that their plans for both guys is to be strong right now and I think that they’re probably trying to get McIntyre over for a top spot right now.”
With Raw lacking in main event heels following the WWE Draft, expect Drew McIntyre to be featured heavily on WWE TV in the coming months, feuding with the red brand’s top babyfaces.
