Ring of Honor has announced their annual WrestleMania weekend event, Supercard of Honor. The event has traditionally run the same weekend as WrestleMania with last year being co-promoted with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
ROH’s event will also be taking place on the same night as NXT Takeover: Tampa Bay. The 2018 edition of the show also took place on the same night as NXT Takeover, going head to head with Takeover New Orleans. That show, however, had a far more stacked card. Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, the Young Bucks and Hiroshi Tanahashi all appeared on the show.
Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s relationship has been reportedly strained over the last year with New Japan no longer sending stars to ROH shows. Without the added star power it will be interesting so see how ROH does against a major NXT event.
Both NXT Takeover: Tampa Bay and ROH Supercard of Honor will take place on April 4, 2020.
