WWE Hall Of Famer Thinks The Undertaker Vs. Sting “Could Happen” Soon

On night one of WrestleMania 36 last weekend, we saw The Undertaker go one-on-one with AJ Styles in a Boneyard match. Going into the show, fans had very little idea about what to expect from the clash between the two veterans.

What we got was an utterly brilliant more cinematic match between the two. For what it’s worth, this is the best ‘Taker has looked in my eyes for at least five years, and AJ Styles didn’t lose all that much (with the exception of the actual match), despite being buried alive by “The Deadman”.

The match might legitimately add several years to The Undertaker’s career, something that will likely be music to Vince McMahon’s ears with ‘Taker being one of WWE’s most marketable characters in history.

However, the match might not have only added years to ‘Taker’s career, but might have also enabled us to see some awesome dream matches that might not have otherwise been possible.

The prospect of seeing The Undertaker take on Sting is one that fans of wrestling have fantasy booked for over three decades at this point, but when Sting was forced to retire from wrestling in 2015, it looked like we’d never see the two icons go head-to-head.

However, thanks to the cinematic match,  a WWE Hall of Famer is of the belief that we could see Sting and ‘Taker face-off soon.

Speaking on his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler spoke about the possibility of seeing Sting and ‘Taker compete in a cinematic-style match in the near future:

“Now in this style, we could easily have The Undertaker in the match that they’ve always wanted to have forever, Sting. Can you imagine watching that in that cinematic style that the Boneyard Match was done in? It could be done. That was a perfect location for the Boneyard match in a cemetery. The Undertaker and Sting can be done in any kind of setting and it could be amazing.”

Speaking to Jerry Lawler, the legend revealed on Twitter that he will be returning to commentary next week on Monday Night Raw.
