It’s being reported that an NXT star picked up an injury during a match at this past Sunday’s TakeOver: In Your House event.
Johnny Gargano, who lost a North American Title match to Keith Lee, hurt his hip and lower back during the encounter, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
There’s no word on how serious it is or how long Gargano will be out for, if at all. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com as we’ll provide updates when they’re available.
Gargano recently turned heel on NXT along with his real-life wife Candice LeRae, with new theme music and presentation to match their new attitude, which is to take out anyone who is given opportunities without having earnt them.
On May 27, he held the first ‘Johnny Gargano Invitational’, in which he squashed an unknown jobber. It’s unclear whether that’s something that will continue regularly, or it was just a one-off to give him a win and cement his heel status heading into the TakeOver match.
