Sammy Guevara has been off AEW television for several weeks for insensitive comments he made during an interview about Sasha Banks several weeks ago. He was suspended and sent to sensitivity training.
It would seem his coursework must be complete. Tonight, he returned on Dynamite.
In the main event of the show, Chris Jericho and Jake Hager wrestled Jurassic Express [Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus]. The match broke down.

Marko Stunt got involved and so did Santana and Ortiz. Just as it seemed Luchasaurus would beat Jericho, Serpentico jumped the railing and hit Luchasaurus in the back. Jericho made the cover and The Inner Circle won.
Jericho seemed confused. The Inner Circle would continue the beat down after the match. Serpentico joined in. However, something looked a bit different about this version of Serpentico.
The masked man removed his mask. It was Sammy Guevara. This looked like the end of the show. However, Orange Cassidy came out to save Jurassic Express.

The Inner Circle quickly left to avoid orange juice. This set up a match for next week. The Jurassic Express and The Best Friends vs. The Inner Circle in a 10 man tag match.
While Sammy Guevara made those hurtful comments years ago, it still seems like a fairly quick turn-around for being suspended. However, he seemed genuinely sorry and let’s hope he’s learned his lesson about using the words he used. Those are not things to be taken lightly or to be joked about.
