It was reported this week that Brock Lesnar is actually a free agent after his WWE contract expired back in April, and many people have speculated that we could see Brock Lesnar make a move to AEW.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Brock Lesnar will likely use AEW to get a better deal out of WWE, something Randy Orton did after teasing a move to AEW last year on Twitter:
“One person in the company noted that it makes no sense to sign Lesnar to a new deal at the moment, as it would only be to keep him from AEW. The belief is Lesnar could, and probably would try to use AEW as leverage, but that at the end of the day, the belief is Lesnar’s value to AEW would be nowhere near his price tag and a deal with Lesnar makes no sense for a company basically trying to just break even during the pandemic”.
On a media call ahead of All Out, which WrestleTalk was apart of, Tony Khan was asked about whether or not AEW is interested in bringing Brock into the company. You can find out what Tony said by clicking here.
A top star within AEW has seemingly ruled out the chance of Brock Lesnar joining the promotion, suggesting that it wouldn’t be a good business move for AEW to bring him in. You can also read more about that by clicking here.
