Alex Reynolds was knocked out in a scary scene on AEW Dynamite this week. During the main event, he appeared to be knocked unconscious taking a legdrop from Private Party.
In the wake of the incident, many people were highly critical of referee Rick Knox and the AEW doctors for not protecting Reynolds better. After the spot, Reynolds was dragged to the corner by The Blade and he lay there motionless for a long time. It has since been reported that Reynolds was fine after the match.
Now, Reynolds has released a statement regarding feeling safe with AEW’s officials. Here is the tweet and statement in full:
Thank you to everyone who reached out to check on me. I really appreciate it. pic.twitter.com/uuM87KhiQF

“Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for all the concerns for my health. It means the world to me. I truly believe the ref and our doctor handled the situation great on Wednesdays show. Injuries happen in wrestling, but I feel completely safe with our team here. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.”
The Dark Order was not able to win the match as Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks pinned Isiah Kassidy of Private Party. This made the Young Bucks the new number one contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
