The betting odds for WWE events are usually a pretty good way of gauging what the current plans are. The Royal Rumble is perhaps the best example of this as there is more interest in who is winning the Rumble match than any other match of the year.
Now, just three days out from the event, the odds have already begun to change. This is usually an indication of plans changing backstage as those with information begin to place bets leading to the odds swinging.
While those at the very top of the lists have not changed (Daniel Bryan and Bianca Belair are still favored to win), the rest of the field has changed. Edge has rocketed up to the second spot on the list while Big E has fallen. Meanwhile, on the women’s side, Alexa Bliss is now in second with Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair close behind her.
Ultimately we will not know how accurate the odds are until after the match. Knowing how often WWE changes their mind about plans, it is entirely possible that they could choose to swerve fans and go with a longshot candidate. According to reports, it sounds like that is being considered.
