On last week’s episode of NXT, Royal Rumble winner Edge made an appearance to tease potentially challenging Finn Balor to a match at WrestleMania.
Despite reports that Edge will in fact be challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, Edge’s appearance on NXT has made people wonder whether there are future plans for the Rated-R Superstar to wrestle on Wednesday nights.
According to Triple H, who spoke about Edge on being on NXT in his pre-TakeOver media call, Edge has in fact been talking about wrestling in NXT for over a year.
Triple H says Edge has been talking to him since before he returned at the 2020 Royal Rumble about coming to NXT and performing, and listed people he wanted to work with and wants to put over young talent.

Triple H didn’t reveal who Edge had mentioned, but it’s fair to say that a win over Edge could make anyone in NXT an instant star, especially with the right feud and storyline around it.
During his promo last week, Edge mentioned that NXT embodies the second “W” in WWE, and that’s what he admires so much about the brand. The man wants to wrestle.
