CM Punk had the opportunity to work with many of the best wrestlers in history during his career. However, he came across one of his greatest opponents early in his career.
Back in 2002 while wrestling for IWA-MS, Punk got to wrestle a series of matches against WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero. Today marked 19 years since Punk beat Guerrero for the IWA:MS Heavyweight Championship. As such, Punk reminisced about his time with Guerrero on Twitter. Here is the tweet:
Absolutely mental. Was just talking to a close friend about all he taught me and we were breaking it all down. Timeless advice, fortunate to have the stories to tell. Thank you, miss you, Eddie! #bestintheworld https://t.co/B34yMWGwHT

Eddie Guerrero had been released from WWE at the time after his issues with drugs and alcohol continued to worsen.
In the past, CM Punk has told the story that he thought he was really good at the time and getting in the ring with Guerrero showed him how bad he was. Of course, both men would work for WWE after this and Punk has since called Guerrero one of the best he was ever in the ring with.
