Wrestling can be poetic sometimes. Such would be the case if former WWE star Lance Storm gets his wish for his retirement, that being a match against Chris Jericho.
In a recent interview with Table Talk, Storm discussed the pact that he and Jericho made to end their careers against each other. This would bookend their careers as they were also each other’s first opponents. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“We made that pact ages ago. I always thought it would be cool to book end my first and last match against the same guy. He’s like, ‘Let’s just do it then.’ ‘Okay, but you’ve got to retire before we’re too old Chris,'”
Jericho and Storm trained together at the Hart Brothers Wrestling Camp in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and would wrestle as opponents and as a team for years. Interestingly, Jericho was Storm’s final opponent in his WWE career. The two wrestled at One Night Stand 2005, which stands as Storm’s last match with the company.
While Jericho continues to wrestle for All Elite Wrestling, Storm has not had a match since facing Matt Hardy at WrestleCon in 2016.
