A WWE star has claimed that rumors surrounding the return of Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 37 were all wishful thinking.
In the weeks prior to WrestleMania 37, it was reported that there was a special reason for Bayley being left off the card. A number of sources were reporting that Becky Lynch was set to return during a special WrestleMania edition of “Ding Dong, Hello!”.
Unfortunately for fans of The Man, Lynch did not make her return at WrestleMania 37. Bayley was involved in a segment with The Bella Twins, where the Hall of Famers stood tall.
According to Bayley, speculation surrounding Lynch was all wishful thinking. Speaking to Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda, Bayley pointed out that her and Lynch are currently focusing on different things, from WWE to being a mom.
Here is the full quote:
“I think it was wishful thinking and people ready to see Becky back and ready to see me get my butt-kicked, I guess. It’s not gonna happen because she didn’t come back, suckers. She’s too busy being a mom. I’m sure it’ll happen at some time. We both have some time left and we both have a lot of things we want to do. I’m sure she has a list of things she wants to do. The last time I think we were in the ring together may have been when I beat her up with a chair.
“I’m sure she’s ready to get her hands on me and I’ll be ready because I’ve been doing a lot since she’s been gone. This is consistent Bayley, no time off for me. I’ve been making moves, Becky Lynch. She better start (at the bottom). I know she ‘gave up’ her championship, but that doesn’t mean she’ll return and be right back in that picture. She better start at the very bottom.”
It was previously reported that WWE creative planned a Becky Lynch return for WrestleMania. It is unclear why The Man didn’t make an appearance at Raymond James Stadium, but it is worth bearing in mind that she is a relatively new mother, so she’ll only return to action when she feels ready to.
Bayley challenges Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash. Also on Sunday’s card, Rhea Ripley defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka and Charlotte Flair.
