A recent report has discussed which day of the week AEW President Tony Khan prefers to produce their pay-per-view events on.
In the past, AEW has hosted pay-per-views on Saturdays and Sundays. According to a new report, AEW prefer to host special shows on Sunday nights.
As per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan has made the decision that going forward, AEW pay per view shows will be aired on Sundays, with the exception of Full Gear.
This pay-per-view will reportedly more often air on Saturdays because takes place during football season. Football reportedly is tougher competition than other sports, such as boxing or UFC.
Double or Nothing aired last Sunday, on May 30. During the show, it was confirmed that All Out 2021 will take place on Sunday, September 5. Full Gear 2021 will air on Saturday, November 6.
SummerSlam 2021 will also air on a Saturday, with WWE confirming that the Biggest Party of the Summer will take place on August 21. It has previously been reported that WWE are in talks with Brock Lesnar for him to appear at SummerSlam.
