It’s being reported that there’s been a push backstage within WWE to bring back some of the names who were released due to COVID-19.
We’ve already covered PWInsider’s report that Shawn Daivari has returned to his producer role and is backstage at SmackDown, but there was another interesting note in the report too.
With WWE planning its return to touring, which will include house shows (or “live events” in WWE speak), the idea is to bring more producers back to alleviate the workload.
After all the chopping and changing, Jason Jordan is now the head producer, a position that had been held by John Laurinaitis before he took over Talent Relations from Mark Carrano.
It seems like WWE could bring in some new producers as well as bringing back released ones, as Molly Holly has been backstage at recent shows to potentially join in that role.
While this particular situation doesn’t seem to include wrestlers being brought back, PWInsider did separately report yesterday that some people backstage in WWE have been pushing for the company to re-sign Aleister Black.
