Mark Henry has opened up about his loyalty to Vince McMahon while he was with WWE, revealing that he received big offers from other companies.
At Double or Nothing, Mark Henry made his debut for AEW. Henry signed with the promotion after 25 years with WWE.
Speaking on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Henry stated that he was always loyal to WWE during his time with the company. Revealing that he received big money offers to leave, Henry noted that he never wanted to disrespect the business.
Discussing his loyalty, Henry said:
“I had been loyal. I had companies offer me more money in the early, middle 2000’s. I never went, and Vince knew I didn’t go. And we talked, and Vince knew my loyalty. There were troubles and I never talked about it because it was never pertinent to talk about it. And I had got over whatever troubles there were. But I came to grips with it pretty easily because I knew I did all the right things. I never disrespected him, I never disrespected the business. Like nobody can say bad about Mark, I did it right.”
Henry will be an analyst for AEW Rampage when the show debuts later this year.
The WWE Hall of Famer has also discussed the future of Braun Strowman, following his WWE departure. According to Henry, there is “interest on both sides” surrounding a Braun Strowman AEW deal.
