AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has responded to a fan that has doubted whether the promotion could fill the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
In September, AEW makes its New York debut. For a special episode of Dynamite, AEW will visit the Arthur Ashe Stadium, a tennis venue that can hold up to 24,000 fans.
Cody Rhodes took to Twitter to share a photo of the packed arena. When a fan showed doubt that AEW would be able to draw those numbers, Rhodes simply replied:
“I’ve been told this before.”
Dave Meltzer’s tweet about ROH not being able to draw 10,000 fans notably resulted in Cody Rhodes taking the bet and producing the All In event. The success of All In led the Elite to ultimately consider running their own promotion; All Elite Wrestling.
This week on Dynamite, Arn Anderson’s son, Brock Anderson will team with Cody Rhodes to face QT Marshall and Aaron Solow. It has since been revealed that legendary referee Earl Hebner’s daughter, Katie Hebner, has also been training with Rhodes.
Rhodes has recently announced that he’s launching a new podcast, focusing on his passions outside the ring.
