WWE are reportedly planning to produce more themed shows when the company returns to their regular tour schedule.
Special themed episodes of Raw and SmackDown often take place to celebrate milestones. According to a new report, more of these themed shows will take place when WWE returns to the road.
The WrestleVotes Twitter account has stated that the frequency of these shows could be increased before the year is out. Also teasing the return of King of the Ring, WrestleVotes tweeted:
“Hearing WWE is potentially looking at more ‘themed’ live shows upon returning to the road. Old School RAW, KOTR tourney, Viewers Choice ala Cyber Sunday all possible for late 2021, early 2022.”
WWE’s last nostalgia show was the “throwback” episode of SmackDown on May 7. This episode was throwback-themed as part of a special weekend on FOX.
The July 16 episode of SmackDown will welcome fans back, ahead of Money in the Bank on July 18. In August, WWE visits Las Vegas for SummerSlam.
Stephanie McMahon has promised a lot of surprises for The Biggest Party of the Summer. Following reports that John Cena will return for the show, Roman Reigns has warned The Champ to stay away from WWE.
