This week’s (August 4) AEW Dynamite main event was rather impactful, as it saw Malakai Black essentially squash Cody Rhodes in his AEW in-ring debut, before Cody Rhodes teased his retirement after the match.
Fan footage of what happened after the show has been posted on Twitter, as you can see below. Rhodes removed his second boot before getting down and kissing the ring mat. Cody then left to cheers alongside his brother Dustin.
The live telecast of Dynamite ended as soon as Malakai Black re-entered the ring and laid out Rhodes with a crutch shot before stealing the one boot he had removed in the ring.
