It’s being reported that WWE “absolutely” had some big plans in place for Hit Row before they were released by the company.
After all four members of the group were called up from NXT to SmackDown at the start of October, B-Fab was released just a month later on November 4, and then Top Dolla, Isaiah Scott and Ashante Adonis were all released on November 18.
However, it sounds like this was all a bit of a rushed decision, because WWE did have big plans in place for the group very recently.
Speaking on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez said:
Alvarez: “I know that, it wasn’t that long ago, but there were big plans for Hit Row.”
Meltzer: “Yeah, like two weeks ago!”
Alvarez: “Whatever happened, happened, but they absolutely were collaborating on some big things, and then they were gone.”
Meltzer: “The reality is that AJ Francis (Top Dolla) did rub people the wrong way, which I think doomed everyone.”

Meltzer also explained the chaotic messages that WWE gave the three men throughout the day they were released, which you can read about at this link.
