When IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James was announced for the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match, she was announced as the reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion, and even entered the match with her championship title.
With WWE endorsing James and IMPACT Wrestling on their second biggest show of the year, fans were curious as to whether or not it would lead to an increase in viewership for IMPACT.
Per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, there was indeed a viewership bump for IMPACT, with last week’s show drawing in 182,000 viewers and scoring a 0.05 (68,000 viewers) in the key 18-49 demographic.
This was the highest viewed episode of the show since February 16, 2021. With Mickie entering the Rumble with the Knockouts title, it remains to be seen if more viewers will tune into this week’s show.
