With the massive buzz around the surprises planned for last night’s AEW Dynamite, did all of the speculation translate into viewers?
According to Brandon Thurston from WrestleNomics, the night was a success.
With AEW Dynamite on TBS bringing in an impressive 1,129,000 total viewers, snagging the highest total viewership since the September 29 episode of Dynamite.
Viewership among the highly sought-after key demographic of viewers ages 18-49 made up 541,000 viewers for a 0.41 rating.
Both numbers were up from the previous week, with the February 2 episode having drawn 954,000 viewers and a 0.35 18-49 demo rating.
Despite the impressive showing, one could speculate the viewership may have been even higher without the copious other sports offerings on the night.
Showbuzz Daily noted that Dynamite topped the night for cable originals, besting the Winter Olympics coverage on USA network, two NBA games on ESPN, and an all-new episode of South Park on Comedy Central.
