As a round of releases at WWE, this time affecting NXT 2.0 were revealed today, there is said to be backstage frustration with the changes.
Speaking to Fightful Select, reportedly one NXT official expressed “frustration” given the short notice of the departures including several who are currently involved in storyline angles with other talents, with little to no preparation.
Several of those released, including Dexter Lumis and Persia Pirotta were actively involved in current storylines so it is unclear what the future will hold for their on-screen love interests, Indi Hartwell and Duke Hudson.
Others such as Malcolm Bivens and Dakota Kai had reportedly informed WWE of their intention not to re-sign with the company in advance of being released.
According to the same report from Fightful, those released today are subject to thirty day non-compete clauses.
This varies slightly from the customary main roster non-compete of ninety days that held others such as Keith Lee and Toni Storm from appearing for All Elite Wrestling sooner after making their WWE exit.
