WWE
WWE made a series of cuts to the NXT roster today (April 29) releasing 10 names from the NXT roster, including Dakota Kai and Malcolm Bivens.
Some of the names released came as a surprise to many, but two names in particular reportedly saw the writing on the wall.
Fightful Select (subscription required) notes that Malcolm Bivens had made it abundantly clear that he didn’t plan on re-signing with the company. He had also done this last year, but was re-signed as a result of the pitch of the Diamond Mine stable after not being used on TV for two years. Bivens was offered a new deal in February, but informed WWE that he wouldn’t be signing it.
As for Dakota Kai, she was reportedly said to have seen the release coming, and beyond that, had also indicated to WWE that she was not planning on renewing her contract.
It was also noted in the report that NXT star Harland was released due to ‘not progressing enough’ for the company’s liking.
