AEW star and ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta is expected to miss the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Double or Nothing is slated to air from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 29. NJPW has confirmed that Yuta will be in action on this date in the Ota Ward General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
Yuta will face off against El Phantasmo as part of the Best of the Super Juniors 29 tournament. The tournament has a round-robin format, meaning that Yuta has a guaranteed nine matches to wrestle, regardless of if he makes it to the finals on June 3.
Yuta’s schedule for matches in the tournament (not including other tour matches) is as follows, per NJPW1972.com:
- May 17 – Robbie Eagles
- May 19 – Douki
- May 22 – El Desperado
- May 24 – BUSHI
- May 25 – Titan
- May 26 – El Lindaman
- May 28 – Master Wato
- May 29 – El Phantasmo
- May 31 – TJP
Yuta will compete in the B block of the tournament. After every star in the block has faced one another, the competitor with the highest score will face off against the leader of the A block in the tournament finals.
