WWE Hall of Famer Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat is set to make his return to the ring this Winter, per Sports Illustrated.
Steamboat hasn’t wrestled a match in twelve years, when he teamed with his son Richie Steamboat against the Dudebusters, Caylen Croft and AEW star Trent Berreta.
There were reportedly discussions for Steamboat to be a part of Ric Flair’s Last Match back in July, but Steamboat rejected the offer.
Now though, Steamboat is set to wrestle for Big Time Wrestling on November 27, 2022 in the Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Speaking about Steamboat, Big Time Wrestling co-owner Steve Perkins said:
“Ricky Steamboat is one of the greatest all-time, and we’re excited to bring a legend back to the ring. Interest will be high, and ticket sales will begin today.”
Steamboat wrestled back at WrestleMania 25 in 2009 as part of the feud between Chris Jericho and Mickey Rourke, which saw Jericho defeat several WWE Hall of Famers.
Steamboat was considered by many, including Jericho himself, to have looked so impressive in the match that he ended up facing Jericho in a singles match at Backlash a month later.
