AEW fans were shocked at the conclusion of the opening match of the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam show on September 21, when Chris Jericho defeated Claudio Castagnoli to win the ROH World Championship for the first time in his career.
On last week’s AEW Dynamite, Jericho dubbed his era ‘Ring of Jericho’, and vowed to change the perception of Ring of Honor after his first defence in the main event against former ROH World Champion Bandido.
Part of Jericho’s quest to reinvent ROH was to defeat all the ROH World Champions of the past, which is set to include Bryan Danielson, who will challenge Jericho for the title on the October 12 episode of Dynamite.
Another former ROH World Champion, PCO, recently spoke on the Shining Wizards Wrestling podcast, where he was asked about potentially being a future opponent for Jericho during this run.
PCO said:
“Now we got Frankie Kazarian with us in IMPACT. We had Juice Robinson. We’ve been doing cross promotions with them, so that’d be awesome, PCO versus Chris Jericho. Sometimes, IMPACT [has to] have the last word. It can’t always be AEW having the last word in everything [laughs],”
PCO is currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling, and is set to be a part of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at Bound for Glory this weekend.
