An AEW star has addressed how the LGBTQ roster members have made a difference.
Nyla Rose has been an influential member of the AEW roster since the inception of the promotion. In 2019, she became the first openly transgender wrestler to sign to a major American wrestling company.
Rose has etched her name in the history books by becoming the first transgender wrestler to win a major title when she captured the AEW Women’s World Championship from Riho in 2020.
During a recent appearance on The Team 980AM, Nyla Rose discussed tonight’s AEW Dynamite 3 Year Anniversary Show and the influence of LGBTQ roster members on the roster.
She said:
“People like myself, Sonny Kiss, Anthony Bowens, a few others, are changing those perceptions and are making the world a better place one wrestling match at a time.”
Rose continued on to address what Tony Khan is looking for from the AEW roster, saying:
“It’s Tony Khan’s product at the end of the day. It’s his wrestling company, so if he didn’t want it on his TV then he wouldn’t put it there. But he believes in us, he trusts us. He doesn’t see those sorts of things. Those are just kind of superfluous details about the people that work for him. He looks for the skill, the talent, and that’s his measuring stick above and before anything else.”
Nyla Rose recently challenged TBS Champion Jade Cargill on the September 30 edition of AEW Rampage.
