A match that took place at AEW Battle of the Belts IV was the promotion’s least viewed match ever.
The October 7 special drew the lowest viewership of any Battle of the Belts show so far, with 317,000 viewers watching live.
During the special, PAC defended the All-Atlantic Title against Trent Beretta, Jade Cargill defeated Willow Nightingale to retain her TBS Championship and FTR bested the Gates of Agony with their ROH Tag Team gold on the line.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the bout was the lowest rated AEW TV match ever. Meltzer noted:
“Boy did that match not draw, that (Gates of Agony vs) FTR match. It was the lowest rated match in the history of AEW television.”
The first three Battle of the Belts events notably aired on Saturdays at 8pm, while the October 7 show immediately followed that night’s edition of Rampage.
That edition of Rampage drew a total viewership figure of 404,000, with a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
Battle of the Belts I on January 8 was watched by 704,000 viewers, the second event on April 16 drew 527,000 viewers, and the August 6 special drew 437,000 total viewers.
