The Vice TV Dark Side of the Ring episode on the ‘Plane Ride From Hell’ created a tremendous backlash towards Ric Flair.
In the September 2021 episode of the series, Flair was accused of sexual assault by a flight attendant, an incident that he has denied.
Following the episode, his iconic “woooo” was removed from the WWE intro, though would be reinstated in July 2022.
Flair is now set to address the whole controversy in a new documentary.
Speaking on his To Be The Man Podcast (subscription required), Flair explained:
“One of the most difficult things I’ve ever been through in my life, personally, aside from health issues, is having 85,000 people tell me within two minutes that I wasn’t on the opening of Raw or SmackDown after that bulls**t from Plane Ride to Hell came out, which is all bulls**t.”
Following the broadcast of the episode, Flair issued statements about his past conduct.
He now wishes to correct the issues that he saw with the Dark Side of the Ring documentary, saying:
“It is explained thoroughly in my new documentary, I mean thoroughly.
“I am calling some people out big time.”
The new documentary will reportedly be released around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
As previously reported, it is being produced in conjunction with WWE and Tom Rinaldi.
