It is expected that NXT star Cameron Grimes will receive a main roster call up at some point soon, according to a new report.
Grimes joined NXT in 2019, shortly after leaving his previous promotion IMPACT Wrestling.
His most recent in-ring appearance occurred on the November 8 edition of NXT, where he fought Joe Gacy in a losing effort.
Grimes is a holdover from the black and gold era of NXT, and many fans have expected that he would one day graduate to the main roster as has been the case with similar stars such as Tommaso Ciampa, Dexter Lumis, Johnny Gargano and LA Knight.
It seems that is a sentiment that is shared behind the scenes at WWE as well.
A report by Fightful Select says that Grimes has been expected by many in the NXT locker room to get the nod sooner rather than later.
More than that, it is reported that this expectation has been in place since at least the Fall.
It is not yet known exactly how or when Grimes will be called up to the main roster.
