An AEW star is expecting to make their in-ring return next month.
In February 2021, Paul Wight, formerly known as Big Show in WWE, signed with All Elite Wrestling and joined Tony Schiavone for the commentary team for AEW Dark Elevation.
Wight would later make his in-ring debut for the promotion against QT Marshall at AEW All Out 2021.
In a new interview with Metro, the former Big Show revealed that he expects to return to the ring next month after recovering from knee replacement surgery. Wight said:
“That knee was bad for 12 years, so it could’ve gone any day. It’s like kind of like that tire on your car that you know you should change but keep driving anyway.”
“But, we’re good now, and hopefully we’ll be back in the ring in March. Everything’s on schedule, so we’re looking good.”
Paul Wight now serves as the lead announcer for AEW Dark Elevation alongside Jericho Appreciation Society member “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard and ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni.
