A tornado tag team match has been announced for this week’s June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite after the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
In the penultimate match at Forbidden Door last night (June 25), the team of Sting, Darby Allin and Tetsuya Naito picked up a win over Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki in a six-man tag match.
Sting and Allin took part in the post-show press conference, but only until they were interrupted by Jericho.
The result is a rematch of sorts, but without the involvement of each team’s New Japan-based members.
On Dynamite, it’ll be a tornado tag match with Allin and Sting vs Jericho and Guevara.
The only matches currently announced for Dynamite are the tornado tag and Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
One question that Sting did get to answer in the press conference before the angle to set up the Dynamite match was whether he plans to retire at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in London on August 27.
