Sting Reveals Whether He’ll Retire At AEW All In London At Wembley Stadium AEW

The future of Sting in AEW has been a topic of conversation for some time with Tony Khan previously weighing in on the subject.

In January 2023, Tony Khan revealed that he believed Sting had been looking at what his retirement could look like.

He would state that Sting isn’t “slowing down” at the moment, however.

Khan had also more recently revealed that he hopes to keep the WWE Hall of Famer active for as long as he wants to wrestle.

Sting’s AEW contract expires during 2023, according to previous reports, and he has previously said that when his time comes to retire, he’ll be done with wrestling.

During the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door post-show media scrum, Sting addressed the issue of his retirement, saying:

“I have not decided on a date, for sure. A lot of people have actually wondered if I was going to retire at Wembley.”

The Wembley show would be AEW All In 2023 at Wembley Stadium in London, England on August 27, 2023.

The company’s United Kingdom debut takes place a week before AEW All Out which has been announced for September 3, 2023, in Chicago.

Addressing possibility of retiring in London, England, Sting went on to say:

“That would be kind of cool, but I don’t see that happening. I think I’m going to continue on.

“Tony has been in my ear here and there saying, ‘Steve, you can stay as long as you want.’

“I’m not sure how long that will be, but like I said a few months ago, Showtime is just about over with, and it truly is, but I’m looking forward to going back to London.

“Last time I was there, I was Joker Sting, the crowd loved it there and it was not the big stadium, but still a great crowd. I’m looking forward to heading back over there.”

The Icon came face-to-face with Chris Jericho during the match that also featured Darby Allin & Tetsuya Naito and Minoru Suzuki & Sammy Guevara.

Tony Khan has recently discussed plans for a “historic moment” for AEW All In being set up at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
