A new report has revealed CM Punk’s status for the July 1 edition of AEW Collision.
On the June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, the company announced the lineup for this Saturday’s July 1 AEW Collision, which will be taped on June 29.
The show will feature the three final quarterfinal matches in the Owen Hart Cup Men’s Tournament with Samoa Joe vs. Roderick Strong, Dustin Rhodes vs. Powerhouse Hobbs and Juice Robinson vs. Ricky Starks.
Meanwhile, Kris Statlander will defend the TBS Championship against Lady Frost and AEW World Champion MJF will make his in-ring debut on the program. Many fans have been asking about CM Punk’s status for the show though.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Punk is in fact planned for Collision despite not being announced publicly for the show.
The report notes that the former two-time AEW World Champion was set to be at the show and perform in some capacity.
This has always been the plan for the company. Also worth noting, Fightful reported that there will be times when AEW runs Dynamite and Collision on back-to-back nights as they get good deals on the building running it consecutively.
WrestleTalk will keep readers updated on CM Punk’s status for AEW Collision when it becomes available.
