WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has discussed rumors about a potential return to the ring, opening up about his health.
While Angle officially retired from wrestling in April 2019, there has been some speculation that the Olympic gold medallist could step back into the ring for WrestleMania, like Stone Cold Steve Austin did in 2022.
During his Kurt Angle Show podcast, Angle stated that he won’t be making an in-ring comeback at WrestleMania 40.
Ruling out a wrestling return, Angle said:
“(I’m) not feeling good enough to come back and wrestle. I have to have a shoulder replacement surgery.
“My doctor told me before he injected it (the shoulder) with novocaine.
“My knees are good, my back is okay, my neck’s not too bad, but my shoulder is hurting pretty bad.”
Angle last competed at WrestleMania 39, losing to Baron Corbin in what was advertised as his last ever match.
Speaking of Olympic gold medallists, Gable Steveson’s next move has been revealed, following his pro-wrestling debut at NXT Great American Bash.
