After an apparent injury on last week’s AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole had a big update on his status for AEW WrestleDream 2023.
With Adam Cole and MJF coming to the ring after a hilarious vignette segment featured Cole on crutches, the ROH Tag Team Champions came to the ring to address the situation.
Adam Cole revealed that his ankle had been broken in three places and with torn ligaments, he would require surgery in order to get back in the ring.
However while Cole said he and MJF should relinquish the ROH Tag Team Championship, MJF declined.
Instead, MJF said that he would defend the title alone in a handicap match at AEW WrestleDream 2023 against The Righteous, which Cole was happy to hear.
Roderick Strong then interrupted them by being wheeled out by Matt Taven and Mike Bennett in a wheelchair, telling Cole that he needed his help emergently.
With MJF telling Cole to join Strong because he now respects their friendship, MJF was alone in the ring to be interrupted by another top star, Jay White, who looks to be set up as MJF’s next challenger for the AEW World Championship.
