WWE NXT lead announcer Vic Joseph has taken to social media to dedicate last night’s October 10 NXT to his father who passed away earlier that day.
Unbeknownst to fans, prior to what was perhaps the biggest ever edition of NXT, Joseph’s father had passed away, yet the 38-year-old would still fulfil his usual duties at the announce desk alongside Booker T.
The following morning, Joseph informed fans of the news posting to Twitter his father’s importance to him and his career in the wrestling business.
Joseph tweeted:
Yesterday I lost my dad – my earliest memory was watching wrestling with him – he always supported my dreams and did to the end – last night was for him – to everyone involved and all of you that watched/interacted – you allowed me to escape for a few hours THANK YOU
Many of Joseph’s colleagues including Natalya, Kayla Braxton and Javier Bernal commented on the post with messages of support.
Joseph began his journey in the wrestling business by ring announcing for various promotions on the independent wrestling scene before joining WWE in 2017.
He has since provided play-by-play commentary for numerous different shows such as Main Event, 205 Live, NXT UK, Monday Night Raw and of course NXT.
We send our thoughts and condolences to Vic Joseph, real name Victor Travagliante, and family.
