Former AEW star Sonny Kiss has commented on her recent IMPACT Wrestling debut and status with the company.
Kiss made her debut in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at Bound for Glory on October 21.
She signed with AEW in February 2019, making her debut at the first Double or Nothing in the Casino Battle Royale.
Her time in AEW would come to an end in September 2023 when Tony Khan confirmed Kiss’ contract wasn’t being renewed.
On a recent episode of Women’s Wrestling Talk, Kiss provided further details of her IMPACT Wrestling status, saying:
“I am not signed to Impact Wrestling
“Let me just give that disclaimer right now.
“I’m open to wherever I’m supposed to be.”
Tony Khan has revealed that he liked Sonny Kiss when discussing her departure from AEW.
Asked about the whether she’d heard the comments, Kiss would go on to address her relationship with Tony Khan, saying:
“I did, and I want to say this too, I am so grateful for Tony Khan.
“Tony Khan has always been great to me in the sense of …first of all, he helped pay my bills during a global pandemic.
“You know, there’s so many great things about Tony Khan and people expect me to say something negative about him, but no he’s given me my life… he gave me stability in my life.
“Like I said he helped pay my bills during a time where a lot of people were not, you know, things weren’t so uncertain. So, yeah, no, I’m forever grateful for Tony Khan.”
In the interview, Kiss would also discuss her friendship with Tommy Dreamer and how he contacted her to be involved in the Call Your Shot match.
Kiss wrestled Trinity on the October 22 Bound for Glory Fallout show but was not part of the recent UK Invasion tour which saw Leon Slater and Harley Hudson receive contracts with the company.
