An update has been provided on a current NJPW champion joining WWE.
At WWE Crown Jewel, former NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane made her return to the company by helping IYO SKY retain the WWE Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.
However, it seems like Kairi isn’t the only STARDOM talent that WWE was looking to sign to the promotion.
As previously reported, WWE was looking to sign NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion and top STARDOM star Giulia with talks already ongoing to the point that she was expected at the Performance Center next month.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer forum, Giulia is currently under contract with STARDOM through March.
The former World of Stardom Champion can’t go to the WWE PC without Bushiroad’s approval and her schedule is booked solid through January.
Following Kairi’s return, it was reported that other potential names could be set to join up with the pair, and Giulia does have an interesting link with the two.
Other than all three being former World of STARDOM Champions, Giulia trained in Ice Ribbon in 2017 under Mio Shirai, the sister of IYO SKY.
Another Japanese women’s star WWE expressed interest in was Sareee (Sarray), who officially signed a multi-year deal with Sukeban.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates about WWE pursuing top international stars when they become available.
